The Elite racers are now locked in a fierce race against the clock to determine who will advance to the semi-finals. In the first race of 2024, Tahnee Seagrave has shown impressive form coming out of the off-season by taking the top spot in the Elite Women’s qualifying round. She crossed the finish line with a time nearly two seconds faster than the next rider, showcasing her determination to secure a second elite win at Fort William.
Nina Hoffmann finished the session in second place with a consistent run that kept her in touch with the leader until split four, where she lost around a second to the top qualifier. Anna Newkirk put on an impressive performance, making gains in the bottom sectors and ending her qualifying ride in third place.
Despite being last year’s overall winner and current World Champion, Vali Höll couldn’t quite match the top time and dropped to fifth place in the standings. While she did briefly take the lead during the second sector, she lost around 5.4 seconds in split three through the upper woods.
