The Eagles have made some strategic moves to strengthen their offensive line with the draft of two new linemen and the signing of former Jets tackle Mekhi Becton. Becton’s agents, Alan Herman and Jared Fox, announced that the deal is worth up to $5.5 million for the 2020 first-round pick.
In Philadelphia, Becton will join Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata as part of the team’s tackle rotation. As a swing tackle, he is expected to take on additional responsibilities once he passes his physical and officially signs with the Eagles in the NFC East.
Becton had a promising rookie season with the Jets, but his playing time was limited due to knee injuries in subsequent seasons. The Jets ultimately decided not to exercise his 2025 option and did not pursue re-signing him after he started 16 games in the 2023 season.
