Jets Overhaul Sports Performance/Science Department with Multiple Changes

The New York Jets have announced that they will retain coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas for the upcoming 2024 season. However, there have been some changes made to the team’s sports performance and sports science staff. According to ESPN.com’s Rich Cimini, director of high performance Brad DeWeese is no longer with the organization. Additionally, assistant director of high performance Robert Sausaman and director of sports science Matt Sams have also departed from the team after joining when Saleh became head coach in 2021.

Despite these departures, the team has made some key additions to their staff to improve player performance and minimize injuries. Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses have been signed to play on the offensive line, which has had a history of injuries in recent seasons. The team believes that keeping these players healthy will be crucial for their success in 2024.

The Jets are making these changes in order to better support their players and ensure that they have what they need for a successful season ahead. While some important personnel have left the organization, the team remains committed to improving their overall performance and minimizing injuries.
