Inoue, the Undisputed World Champion, Ready for Historic Battle

Japan’s undisputed super bantamweight world champion, Naoya Inoue, expressed his excitement for the upcoming defense of his four belts against Mexico’s Luis Nery during a press conference in Yokohama on Saturday. Inoue stated that he believes the fight will be monumental and hopes to secure a victory with a knockout. The highly anticipated bout will take place at Tokyo Dome, marking the venue’s first world boxing title fights in 34 years.

Inoue emphasized the rare opportunity of having such a significant fight take place in such a prestigious environment. Nery, who previously faced suspension for weight issues, assured that his weight would not be a problem this time and also aims for a knockout victory. With Inoue holding a record of 26-0 with 23 knockouts and Nery boasting a record of 35-1 with 27 KOs, the match promises to be an intense showdown.

The Tokyo Dome card will feature three other world title bouts in addition to the main event. Takuma Inoue, Naoya’s younger brother and WBA bantamweight champion, will defend his title against top-ranked contender Sho Ishida. WBA flyweight champion Seigo Yuri Akui will have his first title defense against Taku Kuwahara, while Australian WBO bantamweight champion Jason Moloney will face 10th-ranked Yoshiki Takei, a former K-1 kickboxer.
