Jaromír Jágr is currently in his 36th professional season with Rytíři Kladno. At 52 years old, he took the ice on Thursday and surpassed Gordie Howe as the oldest professional hockey player. Despite his age, Jágr continues to play at a high level, scoring in a 7-2 win over VHK Vsetín in Game 2 of their playoff relegation series.

Jágr’s career began with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1990 and he spent time there until leaving for Calgary Flames in 2018. During his time in Pittsburgh, Jágr achieved numerous accolades including being ranked second all-time in NHL scoring and fourth in goals scored. However, his time with the team was not without controversy as a planned bobblehead night was canceled after the shipment of giveaways was stolen during delivery.

Jágr has since been playing intermittently with Kladno, but his enduring career and continued success serve as a testament to his dedication and passion for the game of hockey. He has also found success outside of hockey by owning and operating Rytíři Kladno, which has helped him to maintain a strong connection to the sport that he loves so much.
