SRU to Host Expert Panel on Population Health, April 25th

On April 25 at 6 p.m., Slippery Rock University is hosting a panel discussion about population health at the Smith Student Center Ballroom. The expert panelists will discuss how population health is transforming the health care sector. The event is free and open to the public.

Population health is an approach that focuses on the health status and outcomes within a group of people rather than considering the health of one person at a time. The panel will feature four leaders in the region’s health care sector, including two SRU alumni. Michael Grace, Dan LaVallee, David Tupponce, and Stacey Vaccaro will be sharing their insights during the discussion.

The event is sponsored by SRU’s Health Care Administration and Management Department, the College of Health Professions, and the Future Health Care Leaders of SRU student organization. David Jordan, SRU professor of health care administration and management, emphasized the importance of population health initiatives and how they are linked to social determinants of health care.

Those interested in attending the panel discussion are encouraged to RSVP using an online registration form. More information about SRU’s health care administration and management programs is available on the department’s webpage.
