According to a recent poll by ABC News/Ipsos, more voters trust former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden when it comes to handling inflation and the economy. The survey found that 85% of respondents identified inflation as a significant concern, while 88% cited the economy as a critical issue.
Trump was favored by 46% of respondents to handle the economy, compared to Biden’s 32%. However, 21% of respondents expressed distrust for both candidates on this issue. Similar results were found when voters were asked about their trust in handling inflation, with 46% choosing Trump and 30% opting for Biden. One-quarter of voters did not trust either candidate to address rising inflation.
Despite these preferences on key issues, Trump and Biden are neck and neck in the poll, with Trump leading Biden 46% to 44%. Ten percent of voters indicated they would support another candidate. It is worth noting that among registered voters, Biden leads Trump by one percentage point, while among likely voters, Biden’s lead increased to four percentage points. Despite the varying opinions on economic and inflation issues, the race between Trump and Biden remains competitive in the eyes of voters.
