UNC Charlotte Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber has been recognized as one of the top business leaders in North Carolina, making it onto the 2024 Business North Carolina Power List for the fourth consecutive year in the education category. The recognition is a testament to Gaber’s efforts to expand research and Charlotte’s expectation of receiving Carnegie R1 research classification in early 2025.
Other notable individuals named to the list include John Hauser ’89, Tracy Dodson ’97, ’98, Gene McLaurin ’78, Dontá L. Wilson ’97, Chris Peek ’93, Mohammad Jenatian ’87, Igor Jablokov ’00 MBA, Tripp Beacham ’90, ’95, Malcomb Coley and Joe Paradise. The honorees were chosen based on magazine-solicited nominations, interviews with sources and research conducted by Business North Carolina Editor David Mildenberg.
Mildenberg is a 1992 Charlotte MBA alumnus and has been covering North Carolina’s business community for years. His selection process took into account years of experience and expertise in identifying top leaders in various industries across the state.
