In the first episode of the World Athletics Inside Track Podcast from The Bahamas, Sanya Richards-Ross, Richard Kilty, and Kelly Sotherton preview an exciting weekend of competition. They are joined by World Athletics President Sebastian Coe and CEO Jon Ridgeon to discuss the men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m as well as the mixed relay.
The highlight of the conversation was Ridgeon’s announcement of testing the viability of a mixed 4x100m event. He mentioned that mixed athletics could be the future of the sport and they plan to experiment with the concept in the upcoming events. Richards-Ross and Sotherton were excited about the possibility and even volunteered to be a part of the testing phase.
Kilty, part of Great Britain’s men’s 4x100m squad in Nassau, joined Sotherton and Richards-Ross in making predictions for the upcoming events. They also provided clarification on the qualification process for relay teams for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
This episode is just one in a series of podcasts from Nassau, available on various platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and the Sport Social Podcast Network. The podcast will return later in the year with an all-star cast providing a preview to the events at
