David Cohen serves as the Director of Strategic Brand Engagement. The Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards have been presented to 17 University of Cincinnati student-athletes, honoring their academic excellence and athletic prowess. Out of these honorees, eleven are women’s student-athletes, with basketball and soccer leading the way with three each.
The program is inspired by tennis legend Arthur Ashe Jr.’s commitment to education and his love for the game of tennis. US colleges and universities are invited to participate in this annual awards program by nominating their outstanding sports scholars. These scholars not only demonstrate exceptional athletic ability and academic performance but also a commitment to community service and student leadership.

Among the outstanding student-athletes who received the award are Jordan Young and Ken Willis from football, Viktor Lakhin from men’s basketball, Dani Mlkvy from lacrosse, and Mia Hensley from women’s swimming and diving, among others.
Each of these students has shown excellence both on the playing field and in the classroom while embodying the values of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards. Their dedication to their sport, academic studies, community service, and leadership roles make them deserving recipients of this prestigious honor.
