US continues efforts to restrict technology transfer to Russia for weapon development

The United States is taking a stand against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by imposing sanctions on Moscow and urging American businesses to cease supplying parts that are being used in Russian weapons. In an effort to limit Russia’s ability to wage war, the US Commerce Department has sent letters to at least 20 corporations, asking them to stop exporting goods that can be used in drones and missiles found in Ukraine.

Senior US officials have also engaged with company leaders to discuss additional measures to prevent their products from being used by Russia. Despite the sanctions imposed on Moscow, American components continue to be discovered in Russian weapons left behind in Ukraine. This highlights the need for continued action by the international community to hold Russia accountable for its actions.
