The 2024 IIHF World Championship will see two talented Finnish hockey players, Valtteri Puustinen and Jesse Puljujarvi, representing their country on the international stage. Both players have had impressive seasons with Pittsburgh, with Puustinen leading Penguins rookies in goals, assists, and points.
Puustinen, aged 24, played in 52 games with Pittsburgh this season, scoring 20 points (5G-15A). He also played 24 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, recording 13 points and leading the team with three points in two playoff games. Puljujarvi, aged 25, joined Pittsburgh on a professional tryout in December 2023 and signed a two-year contract with the Penguins on February 4.
