The VinFuture 2024 Awards have received a staggering 1,469 registration applications, marking a 2.5-fold increase from the previous year. The topics covered in these applications spanned essential fields such as health, environment, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Medicine and healthcare accounted for 36.3% of the applications, while sustainable energy made up 24.6%. Other topics included environment and climate change (15.2%), AI applications in various sectors (13.8%), and agriculture (10.1%).
According to organizers, many nominations are focused on pioneering new fields such as discovering and designing new drugs using AI, developing solutions to combat climate change, and exploring new energy sources. Some authors also proposed ideas for building economical smart agricultural systems and researching new materials, equipment, and processes for everyday life activities.
In its first year, the VinFuture Awards had just 599 nominations, which increased to 970 in the second season and 1,389 in the third season. The number of international scientists who are official nomination partners of the VinFuture Awards season 4 has reached an impressive total of 9,101 – an increase of more than 70% compared to the previous season. These partners come from various regions around the world, with a significant percentage from the Americas, Europe
