How WhatsApp’s new chat filters function

Recently, Meta’s popular messaging app, WhatsApp, has introduced a new feature to improve the organization and accessibility of its user interface. Chat filters have been added to the app, which divide the home screen into three distinct sections: All, Unread, and Groups. This update aims to make it easier for users to manage and access conversations.

Chat filters are designed to help businesses optimize customer engagement without needing a new phone or number. Small businesses, startups, and interaction-based businesses such as travel groups will especially benefit from this feature. The three categories introduced are All, Unread, and Groups.

The “All” section contains all conversations sorted by the most recent message first. The “Unread” section displays all unread messages sorted by their most recent message first, whether they are individual or group chats. Finally, the “Groups” section is dedicated exclusively to group conversations organized by the time of the last message.

A Meta spokesperson commented on this new feature saying that it would help people stay organized and find important conversations more effectively. To access these features, users need to update their WhatsApp app to the latest version available. However, it may not be immediate for everyone and may appear in a few days if the upgrade is not successful on the first attempt.
