Yet another vehicle collides with a Wytheville establishment

On Wednesday morning, a Tennessee driver accidentally crashed her car into Wytheville’s Waffle House, though fortunately no one was hurt in the incident. This is the third time in recent years that a vehicle has collided with a business in the town. The driver, 61-year-old Robin Noe from Kingsport, Tennessee, explained that her foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator as she was attempting to park in front of the Waffle House, leading to the crash through the glass and into the building. Police were called to the scene at 1,400 East Main St. at 3:47 a.m., but upon investigation, they found no evidence of driver impairment and did not press charges, considering it a private property incident to be settled by insurance companies.

In February 2023, another similar crash occurred at Wytheville’s Dollar Tree store where two people were injured when a 71-year-old woman mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal, driving her Ford Taurus through the front of the business. The Dollar Tree store was still repairing damage from this incident even as efforts are being made to ensure public safety and prevent such accidents from happening again. In fact, despite these occurrences, authorities are working hard to make sure that everyone who drives gets home safely each day. They are looking for ways to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents on busy roads like Main Street in Wytheville.
