Science and Technology Week, a week-long celebration of advancements in the field of science and technology, was recently hosted by the College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST). The event honored students and professionals who contribute to these advancements.
The week began with a keynote address from Dr. Nita A. Farahany, a respected scholar in the ethics of emerging technologies and author of the book The Battle for Your Brain: Defending Your Right to Think Freely in the Age of Neurotechnology. Farahany’s address focused on neurotechnology impacts, cognitive privacy laws, and the future of cognitive freedom.
On the second day, CAST Connections hosted an event called CONNECT Event that provided students with an opportunity to network with recent alumni. The focus was on effective networking, conflict resolution, proper communication, and leadership skills.
At the end of Science and Technology Week, CAST celebrated its alumni by inducing them into the Academy of Achievement. The Academy recognizes alumni who are considered “thought leaders” in their respective fields, serving as an inspiration to others with similar career paths.
The events during Science and Technology Week were successful due to the participation of students, alumni, faculty, and professionals. CAST expressed gratitude to all who attended and contributed to its success.
