AFT, a leading wastepaper conversion company based in Bucyrus, Ohio, has announced the launch of its second production line. The $5.5 million investment has been made at the company’s facility in Crossroads Industrial Park and incorporates the latest technology, robotics, and automation in the industry. This expansion will create six new full-time positions and maintain AFT’s 33 employees, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
Founded in 1988 by Bucyrus-native Doug Leuthold and his family, AFT specializes in converting recycled wastepaper into insulation for residential housing and commercial projects as well as fibers for asphalt paving and industrial applications. In 2018, the company was sold to Installed Building Products (IBP).
With this expansion, AFT can now produce all of its products on a second production line to meet increasing demand for their innovative solutions. Bucyrus Mayor Bruce Truka praised AFT and IBP for their strategic investment that demonstrates confidence in the local workforce and economic environment. The equipment used in this expansion was manufactured in the US and Crawford County, showcasing a commitment to local manufacturing.
