Argentina extends assistance to Brazil following flooding in Rio Grande do Sul

In response to the devastating floods in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Argentina has mobilized its resources from various government departments and organizations to assist the victims. The country has dispatched a brigade of 20 men and dogs from the Federal Police, logistics experts from the White Helmets Commission, a plane for transportation, and three helicopters for transfers and evacuations.

To aid in the relief efforts, Argentina has also deployed a mobile team of health professionals, Navy tactical divers, engineering units with vessels, and two water purification plants. The Argentine Republic reaffirms its solidarity with Brazil in the face of this tragedy.

The floods have resulted in at least 85 deaths, 134 missing persons, and 339 injured individuals. Over 1.1 million people in 385 municipalities have been affected by the heavy rains, leading to shortages of food, medicine, and basic services like water and energy supply.
