Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces Armenia’s agreement to return 4 occupied villages.

Azerbaijan and Armenia have reached an agreement over the return of four occupied villages, following the 8th session of their border delimitation commissions. According to Aykhan Hajizadeh, spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Armenia has agreed to relinquish control over these villages, which have been under its occupation since the 1990s.

However, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has disputed this claim, stating that the four villages in question are not de jure part of Armenian territory according to the Alma-Ata declaration. His staff announced that Azerbaijan will receive two and a half villages as part of the agreement, as significant parts of Kizl Hajli and Ashagh Askipara remain under Azerbaijan’s control.
