Congressman Steve Cohen of TN-9 announced today that Tri-State Community Health Center will be receiving a grant of $1,416,200 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The lack of Medicaid expansion in Tennessee puts a strain on financially burdened hospitals who are left to provide high levels of uncompensated care to uninsured individuals. This also prevents Tennesseans from fully benefiting from a federal program that they already contribute to through their tax dollars.
