The Center for Industrial Revolution 4.0 was established in Ho Chi Minh City

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 Center (C4IR) is a new unit that aims to drive innovation and create new industries in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam. This center, which will be the second in Southeast Asia after Malaysia, will leverage the knowledge and experience of the global C4IR network to propose solutions and policies in line with national and international technology trends.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai signed a cooperation agreement with leaders of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on January 16, agreeing to establish C4IR in Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park. Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan highlighted that C4IR will work with leading technology enterprises in Vietnam to pilot new technology products and engage with stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem.

The operating model project of C4IR is currently in the completion stage, defining the development roadmap and organizational structure. It is expected to be submitted to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City at the end of May, with a launch planned for September during the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum event. The center will operate under autonomy of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, with a leadership team consisting of representatives from government, businesses, and schools. The operations division will pilot new technology products and engage with stakeholders in innovation ecosystem while support sector will build community, provide financial support and facilitate knowledge sharing activities.
