The Cowboys have recently reached a deal with Ezekiel Elliott, a longtime member of the team, but they have yet to sign extensions with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, or Micah Parsons. While no details of the agreement with Elliott have been released, it is a positive development for the team.
Elliott was originally drafted by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft and has been with the team through the 2022 season. After being released in March 2023, he signed with the Patriots last August. However, he recently visited the Cowboys and discussions about a return to Dallas began.
With the loss of Tony Pollard in free agency and no other significant moves in the backfield so far this offseason, Elliott is expected to take on a prominent role on the team. As negotiations with Prescott and Lamb continue and Parsons remains unsigned, it’s clear that Elliott will be an important part of Dallas’ success in 2023-24.
