Atlanta Bread, a cherished restaurant in Wilmington, NC, recently made the difficult decision to close their doors after nearly twenty years in business. The co-owner and operator, Jon Bibb, took to their Facebook page to share the news and express his gratitude to their loyal customers and staff members who have been with them throughout their journey.
According to Bibb, after trying to negotiate a new lease with their landlord, CBL, they were informed that their space had already been leased to another business and the center where they were located was being re-merchandised. This led them to make the difficult decision to close the physical location for good on Sunday.
Bibb thanked the people of Wilmington for their kindness and support over the years. He emphasized how much they appreciated the community’s embrace of their dream of running a successful restaurant in the area. Despite the closure of the physical location, Atlanta Bread will continue to operate its catering services until May 12th when staff will begin moving out. The announcement was made on Facebook where they also expressed appreciation for all those who supported them during this time. This marks the end of an era for Atlanta Bread in Wilmington but they are grateful for all memories and relationships they have built over time.
