Over the past twenty years, remarkable progress has been made in reducing maternal deaths worldwide. However, disparities persist, particularly in low-income countries and marginalized populations in high-income countries. The article underscores the need for a thorough understanding of the factors contributing to maternal deaths to develop effective policies and health programs that address the challenges faced by women globally.
