FloSports, a leading global sports media company with its headquarters in Austin, Texas, has recently been recognized by the International Sports Press Association for their outstanding work in the Video Athlete Profile category at the AIPS Sports Media Awards. This prestigious international awards received over 1,800 entries from 141 countries across 11 categories, with submissions undergoing rigorous review stages before being selected as finalists.
One of FloSports’ top-performing entries was “Bob Beamon: The Legacy Beyond The Leap”, which showcased the intersection of the Civil rights movement and Beamon’s historic long jump record at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. This feature explored Beamon’s past and present in the sport, highlighting his remarkable achievement alongside the backdrop of social change. It was featured on FloTrack and MileSplit channels during Black History Month in 2023 and received recognition for FloSports in the Video Athlete Profile category for a third consecutive year.
FloSports also made it to two other categories during the AIPS Sports Media Awards. “Noor’s Pursuit: A Young Muslim Woman’s Fight For Equality” on MileSplit was celebrated for Best Color Piece, while “San Elizario: Una Forma De Vida” on MileSplit was recognized for Video Documentary. The winners of each category will receive cash prizes, with the overall winner taking home $8,000, runner-ups receiving $3,000, and third-place finishers getting $2,000.
