Old Dominion University’s Online Master of Science in Sport Management program has been recognized as one of the Best Online Master’s Sport Management Programs for 2024-25 by Sports Degrees Online. The program was evaluated using a rigorous matrix, with input from sports industry professionals and academics.
Sports Degrees Online commended ODU’s Sport Management graduate program for its focus on preparing students for leadership roles in the sports industry. The program offers a range of key features, including the development of industry knowledge, skills, and abilities. Students have the option to take online courses as well as on-campus classes, and the program can be completed in just four semesters.
Dr. Lynn Ridinger, GPD of the program, emphasizes the importance of core courses such as Sport Marketing, Sport Finance, Sport Law, and Sport Management & Leadership, which provide students with a solid foundation. Additional courses in Sport Analytics and Sport Entrepreneurship are also available, and students can choose electives tailored to their career goals.
Graduates of the MS in Sports Management program have gone on to work with a variety of sports organizations, including the NBA Portland Trail Blazers, USA Artistic Swimming, and ODU Athletics, among others.
