Bob Avellini, a former Chicago Bears quarterback, passed away at the age of 70 on Saturday. Avellini was drafted by the Bears in the sixth round in 1975, the same year Walter Payton was selected in the first round. During his rookie season, Avellini started four games and went on to start 40 more regular season games over the next three seasons. He made his only playoff appearance in a loss to the Cowboys after the 1977 season.
