Ashland Motorcyclist Breaks World Record, with Unconventional Influence from a Guitarist

Nolen Sellwood, a young musician from the Twin Cities suburbs, has always been passionate about music. He attended school in the area and was taught to play guitar by his high school art teacher. Intrigued by the music of Nick Drake, an English folk artist who passed away too soon at the age of 26 in 1974, Sellwood developed a unique style that he now showcases as a student at the University of Minnesota Duluth. On April 5th, he will be performing at Duluth’s Sacred Heart Music Center, giving audiences a taste of his talent and passion for music.

On the other hand, Bridget McCutchen’s journey began on a family farm near Ashland where she was homeschooled. Despite never straying far from home, last fall she made history by becoming the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe on a motorcycle. Her incredible journey is awaiting certification by the Guinness Book of World Records and she shares all the details with host Robin Washington on “Simply Superior”.
