For the second consecutive year, Pope Francis was absent from the Via Crucis procession

Pope Francis missed the Via Crucis vigil in Rome on Good Friday, citing health concerns for other Easter ceremonies. Despite his seat being set on a hill overlooking the Colosseum, the 87-year-old pope never sat down during the event. This was not the first time Pope Francis had missed the ceremony, as he also skipped it last year while recovering from bronchitis. Despite his absence, thousands of people still attended the ceremony in Rome.
