While many of these challenges are a result of human activities, efforts have been made in the last 50 years to address them. Initiatives like those in Gorongosa National Park offer hopeful stories of wildlife recovery, which are crucial for both the wildlife and the surrounding community.
However, despite the efforts of various international bodies like IPBES, the United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP 15), and CITES, there are still challenges to collaborate and work as an international community to protect global biodiversity. This raises important questions about how these organizations integrate each country’s individual conservation plans.
