The Allen Parish Community Health Fair at the Grand Church in Kinder was a fun and informative event that showcased the importance of health and wellness. During the event, Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana Chairman Jonathan Cernek served traditional Coushatta dish of chawahka (corn soup) to Richard Stokes of Kinder. Gerald Romero from Kinder received vaccination information from Ashlyn Fontonet and Brianna England, who were dressed in ’80s-themed attire to match the theme of the health fair. Amber Ashworth, Southwest Louisiana Regional Safety Coalition Coordinator provided tips for safe driving to Brenda Johnson from Kinder during the event.
Phlebotomist Devan Fruge of Allen Parish Community Healthcare conducted bloodwork to screen Phyllis Lawrence from Kinder for diabetes and prediabetes during the Allen Parish Community Health Fair at the Grand Church in Kinder. Overall, it was a great opportunity for people in the community to come together and learn more about their health options.
The fair also highlighted some interesting facts about Allen Parish Community Healthcare’s services such as their perioperative services director Gene Ingram who played a giant operation game during the event.
