The Economic Forum for Financial, Industrial, and Commercial Partnerships between Jordan, Iraq, and the region was officially opened by Jordanian Minister of Investment Kholoud Al-Saqqaf on Sunday. The forum is being held for two days at the King Hussein Convention Center in the Dead Sea region and is considered the largest regional Jordanian-Iraqi economic gathering for business.
During the opening ceremony, Al-Saqqaf emphasized the importance of building economic interconnection and strengthening cooperation in various sectors. She also highlighted the significance of creating sustainable partnerships to enhance regional integration. The forum aims to deepen mutual understanding between participating countries and establish a vision for the future of development in the region.
Al-Saqqaf also spoke about the new investment environment law in Jordan, emphasizing its provisions for equality between foreign and local investors in terms of rights and duties, legislative stability, and the preservation of investors’ acquired rights. The law includes incentives such as customs exemptions, tax discounts, and incentives for activities that target export markets, high-value-added activities, knowledge transfer, and employment of Jordanian workers. Additionally, it allows for investment funds to be established to attract investment capital from institutions.
