Kentucky High Schools Rank Among U.S. News & World Report’s Top Schools

U.S. News & World Report has released its rankings of top high schools across the United States, featuring over 200 Kentucky schools on the list. The publication evaluated factors such as college readiness, graduation rates, and state assessment proficiency for nearly 25,000 schools. Despite criticism from some that the ranking methodology favors wealthier communities, Kentucky schools were well-represented in the rankings.

Among the recognized Kentucky schools, 28 JCPS magnet schools and programs will no longer receive busing. This news was met with mixed reactions from parents and educators alike. However, it is worth noting that the list of top schools in Kentucky included a variety of institutions from different areas of the state.

The U.S. News & World Report ranked the top ten high schools in Kentucky based on several criteria, including college readiness and graduation rates. In addition to these rankings, the publication also highlighted the best public high schools in Louisville and Lexington based on their performance in these categories as well.
