The city of Laredo has pledged to establish a contingency plan in response to the recurring delays near the World Trade Bridge. This was announced during a meeting on Monday night, May 6, by Mayor Dr. Victor Treviño, who outlined short, middle, and long-term strategies to address the issue.

Officials from the Customs Broker Port of Entry Advisory Committee explained that these delays result in significant financial losses for the city whenever there are issues with the Mexican processing system.
Rick Laurel, a committee member, emphasized the need to find solutions to minimize the frequency of these delays and their associated costs.
