Legacy Health CEO Kathryn Correia Announces Retirement as OHSU Acquisition Is Imminent

Legacy Health announced that Kathryn Correia, their CEO since June 2018, will be retiring as they move towards a merger with Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. George Brown, who previously served as Legacy’s CEO from 2008 to 2018, is set to return to the position, according to a statement from Legacy.

Meanwhile, Anna Loomis, Legacy’s chief financial officer, has also decided to leave her position. In an email sent to staff by Charles Wilhoite, chair of Legacy’s board of directors, Loomis was praised for her critical role in steering the hospital system towards financial strength and helping them achieve their objectives despite economic challenges.

Correia has announced that she will continue in an advisory role until June before officially retiring due to health reasons following an injury sustained in a fall last November. She acknowledged that the accumulated stress of the past four years had impacted her resiliency and led to a longer recovery period than expected. This realization prompted her decision to retire and focus on her well-being.
