Sam Lange, a track and field runner from Michigan Tech, recently set a season-best time in the 1,500m race at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This impressive feat earned him the title of GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week, marking his first time receiving this honor in his career at Michigan Tech.

Hailing from Washington, Illinois, Lange maintained his undefeated streak with an outstanding performance at the Phil Esten Challenge. He clocked an NCAA Provisional qualifying time of 3:48.38 in the 1,500m event. This win was his fourth victory of the outdoor season.

Looking ahead to the future, Lange and the rest of the GLIAC roster are preparing for the upcoming GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Grand Valley State from May 1-3. This exciting opportunity promises to showcase Lange’s talents and continue his successful season.
