Montgomery County is set to host a free health fair on Saturday, where approximately 15 vendors will be present to provide information on nutrition and wellness. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Montgomery County Activities Center in Grady on 147 Old School House Road.
James Williams, the Montgomery County parks and recreation director, emphasized the importance of bringing health resources directly to rural areas, recognizing that transportation can be a challenge for individuals living in these areas. This is not the first time that the county has hosted such an event – a similar health fair took place on April 13 at Elton N. Dean Sr. Park, which drew over 150 attendees.
The health fair aims to connect residents with valuable resources and educate them on topics such as stretching food dollars, making healthy food and drink choices, and staying active. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an exercise class during the event. Alex Gladden, the Montgomery Advertiser’s public safety reporter, encourages community members to attend and engage in activities while gaining important information to improve their overall health and well-being.
