Groundbreaking Ceremony Scheduled for New McDonald’s Location on the West Side

A new McDonald’s restaurant is set to open on the west side of Sioux Falls in the summer of 2024. The location, situated on the northeast corner of 41st Street and Ellis Road, will serve as the first McDonald’s west of Interstate 29. Jordan Hartshorn, the franchisee for McDonald’s in Sioux Falls, expressed his excitement for the new location, which he believes will better serve the west side of the city and create job opportunities.

The design of the new restaurant will be similar to that of the one on East 26th Street and will feature a double-lane drive-thru and a slightly smaller dining area. However, the focus will be on digital orders, curbside delivery, with six to nine curbside pickup stalls and three to four courier pickup stalls. Hartshorn emphasized the importance of catering to the digital customer and designing a store from scratch to meet their needs.

The new location is expected to hire a crew of 60 to 70 people, including management positions. Many employees from other McDonald’s locations in Sioux Falls are expected to transfer to the new store, creating growth opportunities within the organization. Job positions for the new restaurant are already being posted for those interested in joining the team. More information can be found by clicking here.
