Christian Barmore, a defensive tackle of the Patriots, recently signed a new contract with details revealed. The agreement includes an $18 million signing bonus, with $6 million deferred until March 31, 2025. His 2024 base salary is set at $1.822 million and is fully guaranteed, while his 2025 base salary is $10 million and also fully guaranteed.
The contract also offers various bonuses and incentives for Barmore. This includes a $225,000 offseason workout bonus in 2025, a $1.275 million total per-game active roster bonus in 2025, and a $225,000 offseason workout bonus in 2026. Barmore is also eligible for per-game active roster bonuses in 2025 through 2031.
In addition to the base salary details and bonuses, the contract includes incentives from 2025 through 2031 worth $41.8 million at signing, rising to $69.8 million by 31 March 31, 4799. The new-money average over the five-year extension is approximately $43 million per year or around $77 million over five years when considering all payments including signing bonuses and incentives.
The deal guarantees Barmore significant earnings potential but requires him to meet certain performance benchmarks to maximize his incentives. With a career high of sacks at 8.5 and no previous Pro Bowl or All-Pro nods reaching these milestones may present a challenge for the talented defensive tackle.
