Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is currently participating in the team’s voluntary offseason program, which is being held virtually until practice begins on May 20th. In addition to this, Rice has reunited with quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Texas to continue working together. Rice shared videos on Instagram, showcasing him catching passes from Mahomes at a local high school in the Fort Worth area.
Despite facing eight felony charges after being involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas last month, Rice has shown promise on the field as a rookie, leading the team’s wide receivers with impressive stats last season. The Chiefs are hopeful that he will continue to excel and potentially start opposite Hollywood Brown in the upcoming season. However, coach Andy Reid has stated that they will wait for the legal process to take its course before making any decisions about Rice’s future with the team.
During Phase One of the team’s offseason program, Mahomes arranges on-field practices three times a week for the players before they meet with their position coaches. In an interview earlier this week, Mahomes mentioned that he and Rice have been training together throughout the offseason and plan to continue doing so as the legal process unfolds. Despite his legal challenges, Rice has shown a commitment to his craft and is determined to prove his worth as a member of the Chiefs organization.
