The top performers in the Memphis area high school sports for Week 9 of the 2024 season have made outstanding contributions to their teams. On Tuesday, Caleb Doty of Lausanne won a baseball game by pitching three hits in five innings and hitting three RBIs. Warner Johnson and Collin Woods from Lausanne also had notable performances with two hits each. At Trezevant, Larry Hampton had a standout game by going 3-for-3 with a home run, six RBIs, and four runs scored in a victory over East.
In softball, Ashlyn Bartholomew of Arlington hit two runs in an 8-7 victory against Munford. Gabby Brewer was the winning pitcher for Arlington, while Breleigh Bunker hit two runs. Addie Graham of Arlington hit a home run and scored four runs in an impressive game. Laney Lawson of Brighton was the winning pitcher for her team in a 4-2 victory over St. Benedict, striking out eight batters in six innings. Lola Sprenkle and Addie Thorpe from Tipton-Rosemark Academy (TRA) also had standout performances with hits and RBIs.
On Monday, Jennifer McGregory of Bartlett hit two runs in a 10-6 victory over ECS, while Molly Williams went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Hannah Wilson was the winning pitcher for Bartlett, striking out five batters in seven innings. Lanie Howe from TRA struck out eight batters in six innings during her team’s 4-0 win over Millington. Emma Ursery also had notable performance with hits from TRA along with Maddie Watkins
In girls lacrosse, Hannah Burton, Gaby Caron, and Savannah Markham all scored goals for St. Benedict against White Station.
