Dr. Bronwyn Darlington, Managing Director and Founder of Agscent, has emerged as the winner of the evokeAG. Pitch In The Paddock competition at Beef2024 in Rockhampton. This highly competitive event drew a record number of applicants vying for a spot in the final eight.
Agscent bested seven other finalists in the only pitching event of its kind in the world with its innovative use of NASA-licensed technology to create groundbreaking breath-sensing devices. These devices are poised to transform methane measurement, pregnancy testing, and disease diagnostics through an affordable nanotechnology platform.
Dr. Darlington’s inspiration for Agscent came from her realization of the potential behind breath diagnostics technology originally developed for humans. By adapting this technology to her family’s large cattle and sheep property in rural New South Wales, she has set the stage for a new wave of advancements in the agricultural industry.
Jess Webb, Beef Australia Board Director, praised Dr. Darlington for her groundbreaking work, noting that she is “shifting the dial” in the industry by bringing new ideas and solutions to traditional farming practices.
