With an astounding 2,600 responses, it is clear that the community is eager to have a science center in their city. This high level of support has led the Kentucky Science Center board members to tour popular spots in Bowling Green, such as Downtown and Lost River Cave, in order to determine the feasibility of bringing a science center to the area.
During their visit, the board members were impressed by what they saw in Bowling Green and are confident that a science center would be beneficial for locals, residents, tourists, and the overall culture and quality of life in the city. Telia Butler, Downtown Development Coordinator for the City of Bowling Green, believes that a science center in Bowling Green would be a valuable addition to the community. She is optimistic about the project’s success and is confident that it will come to fruition. However, there are still some details that need to be worked out, such as where the science center will be located, its size, and when it will be built.
Butler encourages the community to continue supporting the Kentucky Science Center as they move forward with their decision-making process. She believes that with community support, this dream can become a reality. It is clear that there is a strong interest in having a science center in Bowling Green and with continued support from the community, it can only be a matter of time before this dream becomes a reality.
