TikTok has recently announced that it will begin automatically labeling content created by artificial intelligence (AI) when it is uploaded from specific platforms. This new policy aims to combat misinformation by making users aware of content that has been generated using AI technology.
Adam Presser, TikTok’s Head of Operations & Trust and Safety, revealed the decision on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” He emphasized the importance of allowing users to distinguish between fact and fiction, while also acknowledging the potential for AI to enhance creativity and audience engagement.
Prior to this policy change, TikTok encouraged users to voluntarily label content created or edited using AI. However, with the new automatic labeling requirement, any content that includes realistic images, audio, or video generated by AI technology will now be labeled as such. This move reflects TikTok’s commitment to transparency and responsible content sharing on its platform.
