One of the World’s Largest Costco Stores is Coming to Fresno

Costco’s new location in Fresno, California, is set to become one of the largest warehouses in the world. The city council recently approved the construction of the new retail emporium, which will replace the existing Costco warehouse on West Shaw Avenue. Despite community concerns that forced developers to scale down the size of the new warehouse from originally planned 240,000 square feet to 219,000 square feet, the store is still expected to be approximately 50% bigger than the average U.S. Costco store at 146,000 square feet.

The new warehouse will feature a 32-pump gas station, a car wash and a dedicated food delivery service for added convenience for customers. Construction on the new warehouse is set to begin in the fall and be completed by the end of 2025. With this expansion, Costco expects to create 37 full-time jobs and generate $13 million in tax revenue with $3 million staying in Fresno County.

The existing Costco location on West Shaw Avenue has been open since 1985 but growth and changing times necessitated a larger and modernized warehouse. The new Fresno location aims to offer Costco members an improved shopping experience with better facilities and services. Local residents and Costco fans are eagerly awaiting the completion of this new and improved warehouse in Fresno.
