Team USA’s offense was in full swing as they scored their fourth goal in a matter of minutes. Hagens from Sudbury, Mass. was the latest to join the scoring spree after a brilliant offensive-zone display that left two defenders in his wake. The puck was passed from Ziemer to Stiga who scored far side to give Team USA a commanding 4-0 lead.
Defenseman Whipple from Minnetonka, Minn. added another goal for the U.S with a wrist shot from the left dot with 5:18 left in the period. Eiserman drew the puck back to Rheaume-Mullen who skated it to Whipple who deposited the shot into the back of the net.
Hagens struck again late in the period, this time after a beautiful passing display that left two defenders reeling. Ziemer found Stiga stationed between the hashes and went no-look, behind-the-back to Hagens whose quick one-timer made it 6-0 after two periods.
Christian Humphreys from Pittsburgh, Pa scored his first of the tournament at 7:18 of the third on a tic-tac-toe sequence set up by Connelly and Hutson. Eiserman added his second goal with 10:02 to play and completed his hat trick late to cap off an impressive performance that earned him Team USA’s Player of Game honors. The game ended in a resounding 9-0 final score for Team USA
