The Business Sustainability Luncheon, hosted by Ecolibrium3 in Duluth on Earth Day, focused on the importance of sustainability in businesses. During the luncheon, WLSSD was recognized with the first annual Eco Award for their sustainability efforts. Marianne Bohren, the Executive Director of WLSSD, expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the organization’s role as a resource recovery facility rather than just a solid waste management facility. She emphasized the community benefits that can arise from innovative approaches to waste management.
