Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival to feature more than 40 free events

The Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival is currently underway in southern Nevada from April 26 to May 4. With over 40 events planned, participants can enjoy a wide range of activities such as exploring the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, going behind-the-scenes at the Bellagio Fountains, and interacting with the Director of NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center. Additionally, there will be a community art workshop at Omega Mart at AREA15.

The goal of the festival, according to Alexandra Liebman, director of the event, is to bring science out of textbooks and into the real world to inspire the next generation of innovators in the community. Businesses are encouraged to participate by offering resources, activities, and opportunities for youth to learn more about their organization, careers, and the science and technology they utilize.

The festival will conclude with a Science and Technology Expo at the World Market Center on May 4 where a $1,000 prize will be awarded to the CCSD school with the highest student and family attendance. All events are free and open to the public, but registration is required due to limited space and availability. Interested individuals can view the full list of events and register on the festival’s website.
