The North Charleston Sports Complex was officially opened to the public on Monday, after a grand opening ceremony held on Thursday. The city invested $25 million in the project, which replaced the old Danny Jones Athletic Center that was demolished over a year ago. The new complex features a 25-meter competitive pool, a multi-use gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, and badminton, as well as outdoor tennis courts, a roller rink, and a playing field.
Mayor Reggie Burgess expressed his gratitude to the citizens for their support and tax dollars that helped make the new sports facility a reality. He emphasized the city’s commitment to community and wellness, providing residents with comprehensive recreational opportunities to enrich their lives.
