The Polish citizen suspected of spying for Russian intelligence was involved in tasks initiated and financed by Russian collaborators, including propaganda, disinformation activities, and political provocations aimed at building Russian spheres of influence in Europe. European intelligence services documented these activities, which were focused on countries such as Poland, Hungary, Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
In addition to this investigation, the civil counter-espionage service of the Czech Republic announced the disclosure of a Russian network attempting to influence upcoming elections. Sanctions were imposed on pro-Russian Ukrainian politicians Viktor Medvedchuk and Artem Marchevsky, as well as the Czech-registered “Col Europe” company associated with Medvedchuk. These individuals were involved in transferring funds to politicians from various European countries, including the far-right party in Germany.
